Film Review: "Captain America: The First Avenger"

Synopsis: Captain America: The First Avenger will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. As Captain America, Rogers joins forces with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) to wage war on the evil HYDRA organization, led by the villainous Red Skull (Hugo Weaving.)

Review:  With plenty of pulpy action, a pleasantly retro vibe, and a handful of fine performances, Captain America is solidly old-fashioned blockbuster entertainment. This movie sticks true to its comic book background. Chris Evans did great in playing the part as the America's Hero. He showed emotion when acting as captain america before and after. I thought the fight scenes were great and it had a story line leading up to the dramatic ending. This is a must see movie of the summer and you will enjoy even if you are not a fan of the comics.

SDCC 2011: Unveiling 7 'Avengers' Movie Posters

The first poster shows us a very photorealistic Chris Evans in the new uniform conveniently juxtaposed against his costume that most of us have yet to even see on the big screen (as the movie releases today). So, spoiler warning: he survives the first movie obviously .

Next up is Tony Stark doing his Tony Stark thing. No stark differences noticed in the Armor design this time other than the fact that in this rendering he seems to have returned to his circular arc reactor as opposed to the pentagon shape from Iron Man 2.

Next up: Hawkeye and Black Widow

Next: Thor and S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Nicky Fury, Coulson and Maria Hill

Last but not least, the Hulk!

CAPTAIN AMERICA DEFEATS HARRY POTTER

The Sentinel of Liberty has done something Lord Voldemort never could: defeat Harry Potter.
Marvel's Captain America: The First Avenger opened Friday to an estimated $28.5 million, a figure that includesthe $4 million gross from midnight screenings, unseating Warner Bros.' Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 from its spot atop the North American box office.
The performance of the Joe Johnston-directed film is on par with the $25.5 million opening of Marvel's Thor back in May, which The Hollywood Reporter notes may mean Paramount Pictures' original projection is a little on the low side. The studio had predicted Captain America would score an opening weekend midway between X-Men: First Class' $55.1 million and Thor's $65 million.
Harry Potter slipped into second place, beginning its second weekend with a $14.6 million domestic haul. Don't weep for the Boy Who Lived, though: Friday's numbers bring the cumulative North American gross of the franchise finale to a staggering $240.7 million.
Captain America opened in 3,700 locations, 2,500 of which showed the film in 3D.
The film stars Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, Hugo Weaving, Sebastian Stan, Tommy Lee Jones, Dominic Cooper, Toby Jones, Stanley Tucci, Richard Armitage, Natalie Dormer, Neal McDonough and Samuel L. Jackson.

Talia al Ghul Confirmed In Batman: Arkham City

It was outed by Entertainment Weekly during Comic-Con 2011 that Talia al Ghul will be making an appearance in Batman: Arkham City. The daughter of the villain Ra's al Ghul will be voiced by Stana Katic (Castle). If you're not familiar with Talia from Batman lore, she played a love interest of Batman's and became the eventual mother of the caped crusader's son, Damian. Here's a picture of Talia's character design in Batman: Arkham City.

'Field of Dreams' sequel tackles football

I was sitting in a bar last night and caught a brief report on a video that showed Taylor Lautner and a bunch of NFL players. It didn't take long this morning to track it down via Funny or Die as it was burning up the Internet and all of the social networks.
The video in question, which can be found below, is a trailer for the mythical sequel to Field of Dreams called "Field of Dreams 2: NFL Lockout." Given Hollywood's penchant for sequels, I"m surprised that no one ever seriously gave this a thought before now.
Thankfully, the trailer is a parody as I'm sure "Shoeless" Joe Jackson would spin in his grave if Hollywood ever made a second Field of Dreams movie, although I'm sure that Kevin Costner would appreciate the work.
There's plenty of cameos by NFL players in it (and really, what else do they have to do right now?) and the best part for me is a running gag in which Ray Lewis tacklesTaylor Lautner. Dennis Haysbert also drops in for a memorable take on a legend and hits a home run, or touchdown as it were.
Check it out

Film Review: "Transformers: Dark of the Moon"

Synopsis: When a mysterious event from Earth's past erupts into the present day it threatens to bring a war to Earth so big that the Transformers alone will not be able to save us.

Review: this movie has romance, comedy, action, sadness, and much much more. I rate this so high because i'm a huge transformers fan but, i have to this movie put you on an emotional roller coaster. to really get into this movie you need to see the first two before seeing. even without Megan fox the movie drew big crowds to the theater and was a big hit. there are racial jokes, political jokes, and even a few sexual jokes. if you like seeing stuff blown up, destroyed, and demolished this is for you. there are some parts in the movie that will even make you shed a tear or two. this movie has some actual histroy involved in this movie even a couple clips of president Kennedy  this movie is a must see movie if you love Transformers!!!
